Optimal Reality is Deloitte’s digital twin capability that creates digital versions of physical systems to enable better, faster and optimised decision making. The platform runs millions of permutations on a digital replica of a network to drive optimal decision making within seconds. Originally developed through an alliance with McLaren Applied Technologies, the main objective was to re-apply key learnings from Formula One advanced simulation and real-time data management to other industries such as aviation and transport.
Optimal Reality is a complex simulation environment, that model’s system of systems and is ideally suited to aggregating disparate data source for trend analysis and system interaction modelling. It is scalable with more inputs and data sources, both synchronous and asynchronous, including very messy, complex and incomplete data.
With an advanced simulation approach, Optimal Reality provides real-time visibility and predictive capabilities through a mission control interface. It provides users with the ability to predict the future using physics-based simulations to optimise the network. Optimal Reality also allows users to experiment and scenario plan to inform operational decision making.
